Win:Gomez(1-1) Loss:Roberts(1-1)
Homeruns- W.Mays(1st), O.Virgil(1st), R.Repulski(2nd)

Ruben Gomez completed the game without help from the bullpen at Connie Mack
Stadium as the New York Giants beat the Philadelphia Phillies 3 to 2.

In the 6th inning New York scored 1 run. Philadelphia made it exciting in the
9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Gomez(1-1), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Robin
Roberts(1-1) was charged with the loss. He gave up just 3 runs and 5 hits in
9 innings.

BROOKLYN AT PITTSBURGH
Dodgers......... 0 4 0 1 1 1 0 2 0 - 9 17 0
Pirates......... 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 3 - 6 13 1
Win:Newcombe(1-1) Loss:Kline(1-2)
Homeruns- D.Snider(2nd), R.Campanella(1st), D.Zimmer-2(3rd), L.Walls(1st)

Don Zimmer ripped 2 homeruns at Forbes Field as the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the
Pittsburgh Pirates 9 to 6.

Zimmer enjoyed a big day at the plate. He caught a hold of a bad pitch for a
Grand Slam homerun in the 2nd inning, banged out a single in the 4th inning,
delivered a solo blast (his 3rd of the season) in the 6th inning and doubled
in the 9th inning. Pittsburgh threatened in the 9th but Brooklyn was able to
put down the rally.

The win was credited to Don Newcombe(1-1) who went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing
6 runs. Ron Kline(1-2) was charged with the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 4
and 2/3 innings of work.

Bobby Bragan was in a sour mood after the game. 'Even you guys up in the press
box know why we lost this game. We made too many mistakes.'

MILWAUKEE AT CINCINNATI
Braves.......... 0 0 1 1 1 0 0 0 0 - 3 11 0

Homeruns- F.Robinson(4th), G.Crowe(4th)

Frank Robinson went yard and had 4 RBI as the Cincinnati Redlegs defeated the
Milwaukee Braves by the score of 10 to 3 at Crosley Field.

It was a good day for Cincinnati thanks to Robinson. He laced a base-knock
scoring a run in the 7th inning and lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his 4th of
the season) in the 8th inning. Cincinnati had 16 hits overall, while
Milwaukee had 11.

The win was credited to Art Fowler(1-0) who went 3 innings allowing no runs.
Lew Burdette(0-1) was the loser. He was knocked around by Cincinnati,
allowing 12 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
