The Brooklyn Dodgers easily topped the Chicago Cubs; the final score was 8 to
2.

Brooklyn scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning with the help of 5
hits. That was all the offense they were to need. Brooklyn finished with 8
hits in the victory.

Sal Maglie(1-1) got the win allowing 2 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. Moe
Drabowsky(0-3) was tagged with the loss. He was touched for 6 hits and 2
walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Johnny Antonelli allowed Bill Rigney to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game as the New York Giants won at The Polo Grounds in dramatic fashion over
the Milwaukee Braves, the final score, 4 to 3.

The game was won by New York with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.
After an out was recorded, Don Mueller ripping a solo home run (his 1st of
the season) making New York victorious to the delight of the the home town
crowd. Both teams totaled 8 on the night.

The victory went to Antonelli(1-1) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. Ray
Crone(2-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.

Shortstop Roy McMillan had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Cincinnati Redlegs defeated
the Philadelphia Phillies in 15 innings by a score of 10 to 9 at Connie Mack
Stadium.

The score was tied at 7 after nine. Cincinnati came out on top in the 15th
inning. Pete Whisenant led off and keyed the rally when he stroked a
base-hit. After an out was recorded, Don Hoak came to the plate and hit a
single. McMillan then tripled bringing in two baserunners. Smoky Burgess
came up and he lined a single scoring the final run of the inning. Despite
losing, Philadelphia out-hit Cincinnati 19 to 16.

The winning pitcher was Art Fowler(2-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Don
Gross recorded his 1st save. Saul Rogovin(0-1) was tagged with the loss in
relief.

First baseman Dale Long blasted a homerun and had 5 RBI as the Pittsburgh
Pirates clobbered the outmatched St. Louis Cardinals, 18 to 3.

It was a good day for Pittsburgh thanks to Long. He slapped a single plating
a run in the 1st inning, lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 1st
of the season) in the 4th inning and laced a one-base hit scoring a run in
the 6th inning. Pittsburgh kept the scorekeepers busy in the 1st inning
which saw them plate 4 runs on 5 hits and the 6th inning with 8 runs on 8
hits. Pittsburgh out-hit St. Louis for the game, 23 hits to 9.

Luis Arroyo(2-0) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Sam
Jones(1-1) was the losing pitcher. He was knocked around, surrendering 7
runs in 4 innings.
