Juan Pizarro delivered 9 solid innings at County Stadium as the Milwaukee
Braves beat the St. Louis Cardinals by the count of 4 to 2.

Pizarro(4-0) gave Milwaukee a solid outing. He surrendered only 5 hits and 1
walk in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 4.02. Milwaukee banged out 12 on the
night.

Lindy McDaniel(2-4) absorbed the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings.

At Connie Mack Stadium the Brooklyn Dodgers outscored the Philadelphia
Phillies 6 to 3.

Brooklyn drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
plating an isolated run. Despite losing, Philadelphia out-hit Brooklyn 11 to
8.

Don Drysdale(6-0) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Clem
Labine recorded the save, his 7th. Robin Roberts(4-4) was the loser. He
surrendered 5 runs and 6 hits in 7 innings.

Daryl Spencer had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Al Worthington delivered 3 solid
innings as the New York Giants defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score
of 3 to 2 at Forbes Field.

Pittsburgh surrendered all of the runs New York needed in the 5th inning when
they scored 3 runs on 3 hits. The highlight belonged to Spencer who deflated
the mood of the partisan fans when he tripled bringing in two baserunners.
Worthington was perfect in the ninth giving him his 1st save on the season.

Joe Margoneri(1-0) went 6 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. Luis
Arroyo(2-2) was hit with the loss. He gave up 3 runs and 6 hits in 6
innings.

New York now has a record of 13-28. With the loss, Pittsburgh has a record of
5-5 lately, 18-20 overall.
