Johnny Logan had 2 base hits and Lew Burdette shut down the Cincinnati batters
on just 3 hits at County Stadium as the Milwaukee Braves beat the Cincinnati
Redlegs by the count of 3 to 0.

Burdette(3-3) was virtually untouchable. He didn't allow much, just 3 hits
and 1 walk in 9 innings. Milwaukee had just 6 hits for the night.

Johnny Klippstein(2-3) took the loss. 'We didn't have a whole lot of chances
tonight,' Birdie Tebbetts said. 'Burdette just was too much for our guys.'

Don Drysdale was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and Duke Snider had 4 hits and 4 RBI at Connie Mack Stadium
where the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Phillies by the score of 11
to 2.

Snider had a big day against Philadelphia. He laced a one-base hit in the 1st
inning, slapped a base-hit in the 3rd inning, banged out a single in the 6th
inning and tripled plating three runs in the 6th inning. Brooklyn finished
with 16 hits in the victory.

The win went to Drysdale(5-0) who allowed 2 runs in the game. Robin
Roberts(4-3) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 12 hits and 3 walks in 6
innings.

Brooklyn now has a record of 21-12. Philadelphia has a record of 21-15 after
the loss.

Lindy McDaniel carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning as the St. Louis
Cardinals defeated the Chicago Cubs by the score of 3 to 1 at Sportsman's
Park.

McDaniel(2-3) was simply too much for the Chicago batters. He didn't allow
much, just 2 hits and no walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA from 5.08 to
4.22. The right-handed McDaniel lost his chance for a no-hitter when Ernie
Banks homered with nobody out in the 7th inning. St. Louis took care of
Chicago with no trouble in the 9th.

Bob Rush(1-2) suffered the loss. 'We didn't have a whole lot of chances
tonight,' Bob Scheffing said. 'McDaniel just was too much for our guys.'
