Richie has had a great month of May. On April 30th he went 4 for 7 against the Redlegs to raise his average to .364 and he has not dropped it below .357 since. Currently he is hitting .375 and has had 15 multiple hit games including two four hit games. He got four more hits yesterday and scored 4 runs and along with Granny Hamner, who also tallied four hits and three rbi, led the Phils to a 10-2 drubbing of the hapless Giants. Other Wednesday heroes were Bob Buhl and Johnny Podres. Buhl pitched a complete game three hitter and won his 4th of the season for the Milwaukee Braves, 3-1 over the Cubs. Podres scattered 5 hits in winning his 5th of the year for the Dodgers. He went 9 innings but the Brooks needed ten to beat the Buccos 2-1. Clem Labine got the save, his 5th of the season.
