Roger Craig tossed a complete game and Carl Furillo had 3 base hits and 5 RBI
as the Brooklyn Dodgers defeated the Milwaukee Braves 10 to 3 at Ebbets
Field.

The game started off with Brooklyn taking the lead in the first when they
tallied 2 runs on 4 hits. Brooklyn had a total of 12 hits for the game.

Craig(4-2) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. Ray
Crone(4-2) was charged with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 9 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings.

Giants.......... 0 2 0 1 0 0 0 0 - 3 11 1
Win:Gomez(4-6) Loss:Kaiser(0-5)
Homeruns- W.Moryn(5th)

Shortstop Daryl Spencer had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Ruben Gomez pitched a
complete game at the Polo Grounds where the New York Giants beat the Chicago
Cubs by the score of 3 to 1.

New York brought 2 runs across the plate in the 2nd inning when they had 4
base hits. That was all Gomez(4-6) needed. The pitchers took over after the
4th inning as neither team was able to score again.

Don Kaiser(0-5) took the loss. He gave up 9 hits and no walks in 4 innings.
The New York ballclub's record now stands at 18-35. Still in a bad slump,
with this loss, Chicago is 2-8 lately and 12-33, worst in the league on the
year.

Curt Simmons(4-5) pitched well enough to earn the win. He was reached for 10
hits and 3 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 2 homeruns.
Philadelphia and St. Louis each finished the night with 11 hits.

Simmons got relief help from Turk Farrell who gained credit for his 6th save.
The loss was charged to Murry Dickson(1-5). He allowed 8 hits and no walks
in 6 innings.

'He gutted it out' Mayo Smith said of Simmons. 'I was very impressed by his
tenacity.'

First baseman George Crowe cracked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Don Gross was
able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete game at
Forbes Field where the Cincinnati Redlegs beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by the
score of 6 to 2.

Crowe provided much of the offense. He belted a three-run homer in the 1st
inning and blasted a solo shot (his 19th of the season) in the 4th inning.
Both teams totaled 9 on the night.

The victory was credited to Gross(6-3) who went the distance, allowing 2 runs.
