Infrequently used Pete Whisenant had the big hit for the Redlegs tonight to help beat the Brooklyn Dodgers. Pete had a bases loaded triple that was hit to deep right center over Duke Snider's out stretched glove. The hit high lighted a four run out burst. Teamed with Milwaukee's loss to Pittsburgh, leaves the Redlegs only one half game behind the league leaders. Bob Friend gave up 3 runs in the first, but that was all the Braves could muster off the Corsair's Ace. Friend did need 9th inning help from reliable Elroy Face. No other games scheduled in the National league for Monday June 17th, 1957
