Bob Buhl allowed just 2 hits at Connie Mack Stadium as the Milwaukee Braves
beat the Philadelphia Phillies by the count of 3 to 1.
Milwaukee scored 2 runs in the top of the 2nd inning when they had 3 base
hits. Hank Aaron was the sparkplug when he blasted a solo shot (his 15th of
the season). Joe Adcock came to the plate and laced a single. Harvey Haddix
then threw a pitch that the catcher muffed. After an out was recorded,
Haddix came up and he unleashed a wild pitch. Danny O'Connell stepped into
the box and banged out a single scoring the final run of the inning. That
was all Buhl(5-3) needed. The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as
neither team was able to score again.
Haddix(6-2) was the loser. He gave up just 3 runs and 7 hits in 9 innings.
