This is the last boxscore that Danny O'Connell and Bobby Thomson will be in for the Milwaukee Braves. The trade that took place on June 15th, of 1957 saw O'Connell, Thomson and Ray Crone shipped off to New York Giants for secondbaseman Red Schoendienst. In real life Red was hitting .307 at the time of the trade and O'Connell was hitting .235 while Thomson was at .236. Crone was 3 and one but with an ERA of 4 and a half. In this replay, O'Connell was hitting .265 and Thomson was hitting .227 while Crone won 4 and lost two with and ERA of 3.06. Schoendienst is hitting just .274 so far with one game to go before joining the Braves. If the players involved were having the type of year they are experiencing in my replay I'm not so sure the Braves make that deal. But I'm looking to repeat history so it is a done deal. Also I'm going to be taking a few days off so you can see me back here around Easter. Actually, I am coming home Monday, the 17th of April and will be starting back into the 1957 National League replay on Tuesday....Happy Easter Folks!!!Posted by Picasa
