Well the standings after the games of August 28th, 1957 have Milwaukee hanging on to a very slim game and a half lead over second place Brooklyn and 2 games over third place Cincinnati. The other close race is in the batting average leaders. Presently after games of the 28th of August, Dick Groat is hitting .349, Frank Robinson is at .348 and Stan Musial, who is presently on the injured list, is hitting .347. The Braves are slumping gettign shutout by the 7th place New York Giants at the Polo Grounds 1-nil. Meanwhile Brooklyn is red hot pasting last place Chicago 8 to 1. Cincy knocked off Philly, who are still hanging around in fourth place and only 4 games out of first. Pittsburgh is playing five hundred at 63-63 and St.Louis, New York and Chicago are trying to play the spoiler...all of those teams are twenty plus games out of first.
